Hi, I'm Kate!
I'm passionate about using food to create a life you love. What we eat, as well as the thoughts we think and how we behave, create our body as we know it.
If you don't feel good much of the time, what you're putting in your mouth can be a big part of the equation.
I graduated from the University of Otago with a double degree in Economics and French, checking off the boxes that society tells us will make us successful. But you know what? I wasn't happy. I couldn't see myself working in a bank or teaching French. After visiting Peru I discovered superfoods and saw the difference it made in the people who used them. These people didn't have access to all the resources we often take for granted, but they were happy, healthy and vibrant.
Back home, I started experimenting with my family's diet (with mixed results!)
I decided to take a leap of faith and dive in to my passion - health and nutrition. I read every book, article and watched every video I could get my hands on, before enrolling to study at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. (I graduated in September 2015)
My diet swung from vegan, to vegetarian, to paleo. My body became more in tune, and when something didn't agree with me,
I knew about it straight away. I finally cracked the code to eating for nourishment, pleasure and health - and it's so much fun!
I don't believe in restricting calories or stressing about how much we've eaten. This emotional stress alone can keep us from achieving glowing health. I do believe in eating whole, nutritious foods with healthy protein & fat.
